I am the newly elected Branch Secretary of the Thrapston Branch of the Corby & East Northamptonshire Constituency Labour Party. I have been a member and active campaigner of the Labour Party for over twenty years. In the past I have been a Constituency Labour Party Secretary, Treasurer, Campaign Co-ordinator, and Election Agent.

I am also a former member of the Eastern Area Trades Union Labour Organisation (TULO), I am also a former Vice President of Peterborough Trades Council. I am a former Secretary and Treasurer of Cambridgeshire County Trades Council. In addition, I was a very active member of Union of Shop, Distributive & Allied Workers Trade Union (USDAW) Divisional Political Committee. While I was a member of USDAW I was Branch Secretary, Health & Safety Representative, Shop Steward for C102 Cooperative Group CWS Retail branch and one of the first Life Long Learning reps within the Eastern Region of USDAW.
