Labour Candidates

The main reason why the CLP exists is to campaign for the election of Labour Party representatives at all levels of government. We believe that the principal way to make change happen is to win the trust of local people so that they elect Labour members and, thereby, enable us to deliver our programme.

Specifically, the CLP runs the campaign for Labour's Prospective Parliamentary candidate - talking to people on the doorstep, running street stalls in our towns and delivering election materials to try to make sure that people understand what we stand for.

These activities only happen because of the commitment of our CLP members and we always welcome those who join our campaigns for the first time.

In addition to Parliamentary elections, the CLP contests local elections for councillors on:

  • Northamptonshire County Council
  • Corby Borough Council
  • East Northamptonshire Council
  • Irthlingborough, Raunds and Thrapston Town Councils.

Members select our candidates for these elections.
